Our Human Resources Internal Consulting company follows the team and its managers, working with campaigns of training, management skills, as well as occupational health and safety. Get to know COMIL's human development programs.


  • Trainee Program: The goal of the Program is to train a generation of professionals committed with the new business environment and aligned with the company´s strategies. Young university graduates are trained to occupy technical positions and of leadership. During 12 months the trainees receive follow-up as well as take part in integration activities with intensive technical and behavioral training, and at the end develop a project in their area.

  • Internship Program: COMIL´s doors are open to college students who wish to demonstrate their talent and are wanting to get ready to enter the job market. The Internship Program consists of students developing a project in their area. The work is presented to the company during a Talent Show with the objective of maximizing experiences and developing the potential of young graduates in the challenges of their professional career.

  • Grow Program: At COMIL we always value internal talents and promote the professional growth of employees. In 2003 we created the Grow Program, offering chances and new opportunities inside COMIL. Since then many people have been promoted through internal recruitment, which has contributed significantly to the company´s results.

  • Professional Educational Center: Offers a complete infrastructure with classrooms, equipment, and labs in order to enable the professionals technically and operationally. The courses are aimed at preparing new employees and providing opportunities for professional development. Employees also receive guidance and awareness training for promoting health and safety and preventing work accidents.

  • Behavioral and Team Development: The program works with developing a team spirit among employees to provide integration, synergy, and a collaborative spirit. The skills of conflict resolution, decision making, risk management, negotiation, and leadership are worked on along with other competencies. Teamwork, which is part of the COMIL Culture, makes it possible to exchange knowledge and favors the group´s commitment to helping each other.

  • Technical Training: COMIL offers courses in partnership with universities, technical training institutions, and SENAI with content focused on processes and technologies that meet our business strategies. The themes of the courses include state-of-the-art technology, innovation, production processes, designing of new products, and software. Furthermore, training in the Lean Manufacturing system and Theory of Constraints are also carried out through courses with partner agencies, qualifying technicians and  multipliers.

  • Inclusion of the Handicapped: COMIL has a multidisciplinary team responsible for the inclusion of persons with disabilities who work on the suitability of job positions and awareness with teams and leaders. Agreements are also kept with the associations in the region for the visually, hearing, and mentally impaired individuals, which direct people with a disability and who are in search of job opportunities.

  • Paths to Maturity: The program aims to make people aware about the retirement process and assist them in relation to economic, social, and family aspects and this way reduce institutional dependence. Meetings and discussions are held on the subject, instructing employees on proper retirement planning. Retirees have annual meetings at the company and participate in social events in order to maintain the emotional bond with COMIL.

  • Dissemination of COMIL Values: COMIL carries out various activities that disseminate COMIL´s values and culture in order to build a bond of trust in all its relationships. Simplicity, Transparency, Ethics, Accountability, Discipline, Teamwork, and Respect for differences are concepts constantly emphasized in work teams and disseminated by the managers. Moreover, Social Responsibility actions are developed with the community for this same purpose.


  • People Management Integrated System - Career Plan: The People Management Integrated System aims to organize the career plan of employees. The Competency Management System is used to continuously improve professionals. After this, several analyses are carried out: positions, performance, compensation, job training, and career development.

  • Individual Coaching with Management: Individual Coaching provides increased self-knowledge for managers, assessing their strengths and limitations compared to the company´s goals and in the environments in which they operate. By working with internal and external human resource consultants, the manager becomes better able to take decisions, increasing their effectiveness within the company.

  • School of Leadership: Leaders have a key role with regard to motivation and integration of teams with the company. COMIL developed the School of Leadership with the intent of preparing and training its managers and empowering employees with a People Management profile to fill these functions. The program takes place through the development of technical and behavioral skills during one year.

  • Leadership Training Focus Groups: Regular meetings between groups of leaders and the company´s Human Resources department are held in order to help them in the change process, encouraging managers to think together in the actions and behaviors that are in harmony with the company´s culture.

  • Organizational Climate Management: Organizational climate management is extremely important for maintaining a good working environment. At COMIL we manage the climate with annual surveys and by developing continuous improvement actions. Employees identify their emotional state on bulletin boards inside the company and from that perspective the leaders offer to help them or send them to psychosocial support groups.


  • Occupational Health & Safety Programs: Health and safety are constantly on our minds at COMIL. Our structure includes Specialized Services in Safety Engineering and Occupational Medicine (SESMT), which is responsible for programs that promote and preserve the employee´s safety and health. A specialized health team includes a doctor and an occupational nurse, nursing technicians, and dentists who provide clinical and dental care for employees. In addition, part of the team also includes occupational safety engineers and technicians.

  • Ergonomics: Ergonomics is concerned with the general conditions in the working area so that the systems, products, and the environment can adapt to the worker´s physical and mental limitations. The professionals involved in the Ergonomics Program conduct frequent ergonomic and posture improvement assessments. Actions taken on the production process, machinery, and work stations provide greater efficiency for the team, better employee well-being, and hence greater productivity.

  • Fire Brigade: The Fire Brigade is made up of a group of people trained to prevent fires and ensure the physical integrity of employees. Our firefighters are people from our company in good shape and who know the facilities well. They are trained to identify emergency situations, sound fire alarms, call the fire department, coordinate the evacuation of people to assigned areas, learn fire fighting principles, and provide first aid to possible victims.

  • CIPA - Internal Commission for Accident Prevention: CIPA is a committee made up of representatives from the company and employees who work together in the task of preventing accidents and improving the quality of the work environment. The team covers all areas of the company, identifying situations of risk, proposing improvements, and helping carry out security measures.
