At COMIL we work with a focus on social responsibility. To be socially responsible is to maintain our commitment to the planet and society by providing solutions that improve the quality of life of people and the environment. That's just how we do things.

COMIL is a company that complies with applicable laws and requirements. It plans and develops continuous improvement actions with activities that include all relationship groups in the company: employees, customers, suppliers, and community.

We are working today to ensure a sustainable future and a good quality of life for the future generations. See below some of the practices adopted by COMIL.

PRESERVATION OF THE ENVIRONMENT

To protect the environment and preserve the future of our planet, COMIL has adopted measures aimed at reducing the utilization of material resources, minimizing waste generation in addition to meeting legal requirements. Get to know some of our practices that are already working:

  • Waste flow management: we control waste through separation for recycling and proper disposal according to each type of waste.

  • Waste treatment: we treat our sewage and reuse the treated water.

  • Cleaner production: we reduced waste generation and scrap materials, as well as improved processes, leaving them less polluting.

QUALITY OF LIFE FOR ALL

Preserve the quality of life for our employees and of the community is a source of pride and a daily challenge at COMIL. We participate in several programs that assist and promote a healthy and motivating environment in order to preserve the health and well-being of all. Here they are:

  • <strong>Inclusion of People with Disabilities:</strong> COMIL maintains agreements with associations in the region for the visually, hearing, and mentally impaired individuals, which direct people with some type disability who are in search of employment. Furthermore, we have a multidisciplinary team that includes doctors, nurses, psychologists, safety inspectors, and CIPA members who are responsible for the inclusion of the disabled, for adapting the job position, and the entire team's awareness.

Retirees have annual meetings at the company and participate in social events in order to maintain the emotional bond with COMIL.

  • <strong>Theater Group:</strong> COMIL believes that through cultural manifestations it is possible to express thoughts and build various forms of knowledge. The Theater Group is used to promote plays for schools and entities on various themes involving social interaction such as the problems of alcohol, drugs, and violence in the family, spreading its culture and values.

  • <strong>Social Contributions:</strong> COMIL assists and financially supports local charities such as Association of Support for Elderly, Patronato São José Children's Home for Adoption (for juvenile offenders), and Proerti Project (helps needy children by offering sports and education activities).

Based on awareness campaigns, Mutual Help Groups, and individual counseling, the program assists Groups of Diabetics, the Hypertensive Group, Monitoring of Pregnant Women, Testing and Prevention Campaign for Cancer Prevention, and Prevention Campaigns against the HIV virus.
